This article recovers the history of one of the first public school libraries in the province of Buenos Aires. Its historicity invites us to reflect on the link that libraries can establish with the community. Sustaining over time has been its greatest challenge, but the accompaniment of generations of users who visit it, its greatest strength. The pandemic has not been able to close its doors, through protocols and in a virtual way it continued with its activities. This is the story of a space for everyone where the ties that were woven over the years with the Ramos Mejía community allow the “Almafuerte” library to be recognized today not only as a place for reading but also for meetings. and cultural exchanges
